RE: Lack of software abstractions: msg#00285lang.j.general

Plus my suggestions/opinions on the "workspace" matter should carry little, if any, weight, as I do not intend to use them. The script I posted was just the result of some fun ideas I had on the train this morning, after reading your message. You might still be able to use some parts (e.g. allnames ) as a convenient UI for selecting the names to preserve. Actually, what might be better is Oleg's locale browser. Maybe you could hook into that, and allow the user to visually select the names to back up? Of course, a programmatic UI is still necessary, but the GUI layer is likely to be more immediately useful to most. -Dan PS: and WOW, I __really__ need to proofread my posts. I scanned what I sent this morning, and it has more than a couple of glaring errors. Sorry if that lowered the signal/noise ratio. |
