Something valuable that did come out of the off-topic meanderings of this discussion: the code from Roger and Dan to save the entire "workspace". I plan to add this to my "WS.ijs" module at some point unless someone else beats me to it. The only thing slowing me down at the moment is a desire to refine the code a little to make it more precisely targetable. When I ran Roger's expression on my current (long-running) J session, it created a file of over 250 MB which was subsequently hard to load.
