Comment:

 Optimistically assuming this is now fixed; see also #751, #847, #848.
 Additionally, we switched to using the 1-1 threading library {{{libthr}}}
 instead of the default M-N {{{libpthread}}} for threading on FreeBSD,
 because it seems more stable.
