Comment:

 Dup of #885.  Fortunately this ticket will provide more search fodder for
 those experiencing the same problem.

 For the record: the workaround is to turn off Data Execution Prevention
 (which is on by default in Windows Server 2003, I think).  It can be found
 in Control Panel -> System -> Advanced -> Performance -> Data Execution
 Prevention.
