 Of course this has already been done. The IA-64 port works for ghc-6.4.1.

 It is slightly fragile. Particular combinations of gcc version, ghc/gcc
 optimisation flags and highly optimised Haskell code can cause problems
 with the mangler. From recent testing it appears that ghc-6.4.2_pre wasn't
 building due to such a problem occuring for one library module. I can try
 again with the 6.4.2 final release.
