Re: [GHC] #647: Socket bug on Mac OS X, with patch: msg#00117lang.haskell.glasgow.bugs
#647: Socket bug on Mac OS X, with patch ----------------------------------+----------------------------------------- Reporter: gwright@xxxxxxxxxxx | Owner: Type: bug | Status: new Priority: normal | Milestone: Component: libraries/network | Version: 6.4.1 Severity: normal | Resolution: Keywords: "OS X" Sockets | Os: MacOS X Difficulty: Easy (1 hr) | Architecture: powerpc ----------------------------------+----------------------------------------- Changes (by wolfgang): * cc: => wolfgang.thaller@xxxxxxx Comment: Is there any reason why we should have the #ifdef darwin here? I failed to find any documentation that explicitly mentions the need to zero the structure, but lots of sample code on the web that just does it without any explanation. If an obligation to zero the structure is part of the standard API but just not necessary on most platforms, we should do it, I guess. Well, sockets are really not my strong point. -- Ticket URL: <http://hackage.haskell.org/trac/ghc/ticket/647> GHC <http://www.haskell.org/ghc/> The Glasgow Haskell Compiler_______________________________________________ Glasgow-haskell-bugs mailing list Glasgow-haskell-bugs@xxxxxxxxxxx http://www.haskell.org/mailman/listinfo/glasgow-haskell-bugs
