Here is the snippet from 'darcs changes, so you
can discern the state of the hIDE repo
(http://www.scannedinavian.org/repos/hIDE):

* More GUI tweaks and demo editor
improvements

Thu Sep 22 17:06:16 CEST 2005 Duncan Coutts
<duncan.coutts@xxxxxxxxxxxxx>
* Fix up yiBase so it still works
Fro the moment the yi widget gets it's own top
level window, just until it is
adapted to use the new ide shell interface

<duncan.coutts@xxxxxxxxxxxxx>
* More build.sh portability fixes

Thu Sep 22 16:48:40 CEST 2005 Duncan Coutts
<duncan.coutts@xxxxxxxxxxxxx>
* Do not build with -threaded, use the gtk2hs
thread hack.

<duncan.coutts@xxxxxxxxxxxxx>
* Add wadges of new GUI stuff
This now has the file browser and a demo text
editor using the model/view
split. You can open multiple top level windows
(View->New Window) and edit the
same buffer from multiple windows.

The error message is supposed to be something like
"ghc-6.4.1: unknown package: <something>", rather than the
panic that you got. I've now fixed that problem.

In any case, GHC can't find one of the packages you need,
for some reason. The diagnostics aren't great at the moment
(i've just improved that too).
