Ouch, yes, that is easier than my fiddling. Thanks. Regarding my
problem, I changed the Makefile in hslibs:

Now it works for me, too.

I haven't overridden anything in build.mk, so I assume SplitObjs=YES. 
When would I observe these warnings?
