Oops, I had keft the flag off - and that indeed seems to have fixed the problem.

I've been running ghc6.5, downloaded and built along with the other tools in the fptools cvs repository (I have no pressing need for cutting edge code, but using the fptools repository is convenient in providing everything in the one place!). ...

Indeed, there is no file directory.h under the source tree. Should this have been created during configuration - either way, any suggestions on why it is missing?
