Sergey's point was also that the error message misled him. Perhaps we can expand the message to say Can't load package 'foo' If there are preceding 'unknown symbol' messages, perhaps package foo lacks a dependency in its configuration file? Maybe we can even distinguish the two cases of (a) HSfoo.o was not found etc from (b) unresolved references. Then the error message could have fewer caveats "If there are... ". Simon
