Closure type 0

Hey,

The current head build on mips64-sgi-irix has repeatedly given me the
following. I'm sending this out as a possible data point (with newlines
for emphasis), though I don't think I'll get too far in solving this:

Closure type 0 == INVALID_OBJECT. Unfortunately, gdb doesn't seem
to work properly on this platform.
