Remove the reference to __eprintf in the definition of RTS_LIBGCC_SYMBOLS 
(use the attached patch, or do it by hand) and it goes through.  This is on 
an up-to-date version of RedHat 9.  Yes Virginia, they have mucked with 
glibc since releasing RedHat 9.
