ghci on RedHat 9: msg#00022

Subject: ghci on RedHat 9

I've just installed a new system w/ RedHat 9, including
patches. Now, ghci (5.04.3) doesn't work.

First I tried the RH8 rpms available from
http://www.haskell.org/ghc. Error. The compiler itself
seemed fine, so then I tried building ghci and the entire
5.04.3 from source using the RH8 rpm 5.04.3 compiler.

It built, but ghci still gives an error:

[erikp]$ ghci

Please report it as a compiler bug to glasgow-haskell-bugs@xxxxxxxxxxx,
or http://sourceforge.net/projects/ghc/.

Just thought I'd report it. I was thinking about perhaps getting an earlier
compiler, say 4.08.2, and rebuild 5.04.3 but I don't know if it would help.

Thanks for all the great work!
