Is it possible that your terminal is set up for syntax-highlighting,
or that you are using GHCi from within something like emacs where
such a facility might be available? For instance, some environments
render lines containing a > character in a different colour/font
because of the common mail-quoting convention. Another possibility
is syntax-highlighting for diff-scripts.
