Subject: RE: JDK 1.5

Hello Russel,

Unfortunately, we don't currently test Groovy on JDK 1.5.
And for the moment, Groovy won't work on that JDK.
I'm sorry for that.
There are already a few JIRA issues in the tracker.
We'll try to find some time for testing/porting the bytecode generation classes
to JDK 1.5
Sorry for the inconvenience.

Is anyone else using JDK 1.5 (properly known has J2SE v5.0 :-) ? I am
-- I have to use generics so cannot revert to J2sdk 1.4.2 and there are
problems.

I have pulled a copy of the CVS head of Groovy so as to work with the
latest stuff (I am assuming head is the correct thing to use and not
some branch) and the tests will not compile. Being new to Groovy and
Maven it is likely to take me a while to sort out what is what and how
things work and I was wondering if there are any easy ways of learning
all the stuff. The actual problems are below. (Bugs GROOVY-665 and
GROOVY-666 relate to this, let us hope that the bug number is not too
significant :-)

Does the developer list have any traffic or is everything on the user
list -- I thought I had signed up for both but haven't seen any traffic
on the developer list.
