Hi Bill,
  When I'm starting out with a groovy project using ant, rather than
muck about with all that hand setup, I tend to use my tool 'megg',
which will do all the initial wiring for me.

   You can download it from http://javanicus.com/megg/groovy.html

You just type 'java -jar megg.jar groovy' and it will ask you a few
questions about your project,
megg will then create a directory structure (writing to a new
directory given the projectName you submit, so be careful not to
overwrite your existing stuff), and full 'hello world' style
ant/groovy project for you.
