Re: Auto type conversion: msg#00080lang.groovy.user

I'm almost done listening to your keynote and I like some of the things I'm hearing. The mention of Janino caught my attention as I used it in an informal test recently against javac, groovy and PropertyUtils. Looking back at the results and my comments, it was slightly unfair to ASM in that at the time I did not realize that groovy was doing every invoke via reflection. As you mention in your keynote groovy should be able to compile to a non-reflection class when appropriate. Surprisingly enough, Janino was faster than my control class (using javac) by about 30%. http://jroller.com/page/sftarch/20040802#dynamic_class_generation_groovy_vs - Robert
