Live Groovy Talk @ Nov/10th @ VanJUG Vancouver, BC: msg#00159lang.groovy.user
Hello, If you happen to be in Vancouver, BC on Wednesday, November 10th I invite you to the Java User Group (VanJUG) meeting where I will talk about Groovy. The official title is "Groooooovy Babe: Jazzing Up Plain Old Java: Scripting Power for Java - Do More With Less (Lines of Code)" and the summary states: Gerald introduces you to Groovy, a free, open-source dynamic language in Java for the Java runtime that borrows the best from dynamic languages such as Python, Ruby or Smalltalk and offers it to you in an all-in-one package using a Java-style syntax. Groovy compiles straight to Java bytecode on-the-fly and works out-of-the-box with all existing Java objects and libraries. Groovy offers higher-level functions and iterators (=closures), built-in syntax for lists and maps, markup (XML), regular expressions (regex), ranges, and much much more. The official announcement for the upcoming VanJUG meeting should show up any minute @ http://www.openroad.ca/vanjug - Gerald --------------------------- Gerald Bauer Rich Client Conference (RichCon) 2005 - http://richcon.com XUL News Wire - http://xulnews.com United XAML - http://unitedxaml.org ______________________________________________________________________ Post your free ad now! http://personals.yahoo.ca
