This issue seems to be related to this issue:

http://groups-beta.google.com/group/boolang/browse_frm/thread/46ec9cb8d1516193/57a07653faa5953d#57a07653faa5953d

In summary: Code completion becomes functional for abstract classes and the
classes that derive from them after SharpDevelop has been restarted.

C# and VB.NET do not suffer these ails so I can only assume that the problem
lies within BooBinding somewhere.
