Fixed !
The problem was a line in rc.local with wrong hdparm parameters, the issue was related to my local disk and not with the share file systems (firewire). Looking for errors I found hda problems with DMA (dmesg), so I just remove from
rc.local the hdparm line, hope this will be useful as information.
Thanks anyway.
Regards,
J

Hi experts,
I have a disk firewire (chip 911) working with RH Linux AS 4 connected to two machines sharing a file system using ocfs2, the problems happens when I execute a simple command like ls -ltr on the FS shared, sometimes the answer it's inmediate, others I need to wait 5-10 seconds to responds to list 20 files, there aren't errors in log files. I just want to understand what's going on, so any help in "how to trace" or "how to diagnose" this type of problem it's welcome.
Thanks a lot.
