Hi Andrew,

I'm no programmer but listening to this and the kino-dev mailing list.
The HDV mpeg material can be captured with a small test tool from the 
libiec61883-1.0.0 package. It's called test-mpeg2 in the examples directory.
Dan Dennedy wanted to write a hdvgrab version some times ago which would be 
able to grab mpeg-ts streams too. But it seems he's to busy right now with 
other projects.
