Subject: KPilot - almost there

I read up on kpilot and I think I almost have it working, but not quite. The
procedure I am trying is:

- start kpilot
- click the kpilot hotsync button
- click the hotsync button on the palm

I have this in /var/log/messages:

May 24 19:07:41 itpsdev kernel: usb 1-2: new full speed USB device using
address 17

and the kpilot log is:

Version: KPilot 4.4.1
Version: pilot-link 0.11.8
Version: KDE 3.2.1
Version: Qt 3.3.1

HotSync Log

19:07:26 Starting the KPilot daemon ...
19:07:26 Daemon status is `'
19:07:28 Trying to open device /dev/usb/ttyUSB0...
19:07:28 Could not open device: /dev/usb/ttyUSB0 (will retry)
19:07:37 HotSyncing. Please press the HotSync button.
19:07:41 Device link ready. <-- Here is where I press the palm hotsync button

After this nothing else happens until the connection times out on the palm.
It's a tungsten E.

I am on suse91 which I understand is not the most compatible with kpilot.
However I think I am close but not sure what to try next. Any suggestions
appreciated. BTW I looked at all the udev stuff but not sure I need it, I
don't need to connect multiple USB devices.

Thanks, Larry
