Re: KMail 1.8 and SMTP Authentication: msg#00129kde.users.pim
Hi Derek, i have the same problem since i updated to kde 3.4. I use suse 9.1 and the suse rpms. i tried to follow your advice to let it check the servers capabilities autmatically, it found the configured plain authentication. but if i try to send a mail it didn't worked. I get the same error. i experienced this on two (nearly the same) installations. kind regards sebastian Derek Broughton <derek@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: > On Monday 16 May 2005 10:02, Stefano Bartaletti wrote: > > > > If I try to telnet port 25 of this server, I get this message > > > > 250-AUTH=LOGIN CRAM-MD5 PLAIN > > > > Now I have tried any parameter combination in kmail for SMTP > > authentication, but SASL keeps giving me a -4 'no mechs found' error. > > It _isn't_ SASL, aiui. > > It usually works for me by configuring the "Sending" account in KMail, > checking "Server requires authentication" and filling in name and password, > selecting the "Security" tab and the "Check what server supports" button. > Then selecting any of the remaining available options. > -- > derek > _______________________________________________ > KDE PIM users mailing list > kdepim-users@xxxxxxx > https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-users > -- Sebastian Reitenbach Tel.: ++49-(0)3381-8904-305 RapidEye AG Fax: ++49-(0)3381-8904-101 Friedrich-Franz-Str. 19 e-mail:reitenbach@xxxxxxxxxxx D-14770 Brandenburg web:http://www.rapideye.de |
