Hi Derek,

i have the same problem since i updated to kde 3.4. I use suse 9.1 and the
suse rpms. i tried to follow your advice to let it check the servers
capabilities autmatically, it found the configured plain authentication. but
if i try to send a mail it didn't worked. I get the same error. i experienced
this on two (nearly the same) installations.
