KMail 1.8 and SMTP Authentication: msg#00113kde.users.pim
Hi, I am facing a little trouble with KMail 1.8 and a qmail server. This server is in my LAN, built on slackware 10.0 by following qmailrocks (www.qmailrocks.org) help for slackware. This server is set to accept messages that can go outside the LAN by checking password through the SMTP service. With previous kmail, everything was working properly, now SASL is giving me errors that I cannot understand. If I try to telnet port 25 of this server, I get this message 250-AUTH=LOGIN CRAM-MD5 PLAIN Now I have tried any parameter combination in kmail for SMTP authentication, but SASL keeps giving me a -4 'no mechs found' error. I temporarily solved the issue by adding my IP address to the 'relayclient' setting of qmail smtp, ut how can I track down and solve the problem? Thanks for any advice -- Time is an illusion. Lunch time doubly so. |
