Subject: Read only attachements - msg#00187
List: kde.users.pim
Hi Guys,
I have just gone through the thread from 17-23 rd march 2004 with the same
subject as this post, and I fully understand that read-only attachments are a
Good Thing.
However, if one drags an attachment out of the mail onto the desktop, it is
copied as read-only. Is there some handy way to make attachments which have
been dropped where they _are_ editable to default to rw, or even the user's
umask?
TIA,
Maf.

Re: [kpilot] proxy password in malconduit setup dialog
Hi Adriaan,
Now is the password effectively stored encrypted in the config file.
However, the is a little problem :
If you modify some parameter in the config-dialog, the entered proxy password
is lost when you apply changes and a null-string is stored in the config
file. There is a simple workaround to this which is to enter the password
again before clicking the apply button if you modify some other parameter in
mal-setup dialog...
The fix would probably reside in re-reading the kpassword infos before writing
in the file. I checked quickly the sources but the solution is not so
evident...
Regards,
Olivier.

I don't think it's possible because for KMail there's no way to know
whether you will drop the attachment on the desktop to copy it there or
whether you will drop it on KWrite (or some application) in order to
open it.
