About the RH8.0 Screensavers. I had the same problems too. The screensaver worked great during the test, but when it was time to actually kick in, it just blanked the screen. I can say for sure it wasn't the power management settings. I turned off power management to be sure. I can only verify the problem happened in KDE 3.0.3. I didn't take the time to upgrade to 3.0.4 to check the problem out there. Xscreensavers under Gnome didn't have a problem.
