I asked a similar question (how to keep the screen from blanking on a public computer running Mandrake with IceWM) and got this as an answer. It worked for me: 1) In your /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 file comment out the DPMS line: # Option "DPMS" "on" 2) In your personal ~/.xession file (you may need to create this if it doesn't exist) add: xset s off I did both at once, so I don't know if you could get by with only 1.
