unmounting problems: msg#00364

Subject: unmounting problems

hello,
i'm having problems unmount cdrom devices in kde. i have 2 cdroms in my
computer and i mount them by double clicking their icons on the desktop.
they mount fine and browse fine with konqueror. the problem is unmounting
them. first it says that i need to be root to unmount them, then if i open a
konsole and su, it says that the device is busy (this usually only happens to
one of them if both are mounted, or if only one is mounted, it happens all
the time). i have to completely log out of kde to umount them as root. is
quite a pain since i have to copy files from roughly 50 cds and i gotta log
outta kde everytime i wanna umount one.

i'm using redhat-8.0, kde-3.1-rc3, qt-3.1.0, and both kde and my home dir are
on an nfs share.

thanks for the help,
christopher

P.S. there is a very annoying bug when konqueror tries to copy multiple files
to a destination dir where some of the files already exist. a dialog box
comes up asking if i want to skip, replace, etc. i choose skip and the
copying commences but there is NO progress dialog box...very annoying. i've
already reported these bugs to bugs.kde.org.
