docbook is AFAIK the xml standard format for documentation in kde, which is
converted to html 'on the fly' by the built in help system.
you can edit the files with any editor, but, of course, you will have to
follow the correct syntax when changing/adding something.
you might also try an xml-editor like kxmleditor.
