Does pilot-xfer work? Does the kernel recognize the device? Have you got the
visor driver loaded? Those are the things to try first. Something like:

modprobe visor
pilot-xfer -L -p /dev/ttyUSB1

should do the trick, but i'm neither a linux device loading expert nor, at
this moment, quite up to date on what the options for pilot-xfer are. Check
the manpage.
