vcard incompatibility

I tried to import and to merge an older version vcard in a .vcs file, but 
KOrganiser cannot read it. the version number of the old version appears to 
be 1.4.3 and its structure does look different from the v2 version KOrganiser 
now uses.
Is there any way I can import this file?
