Screenshots of what happens for me

Your example looks great, that's how it should work. This is what happens when
I do the same thing:

foo foo foo
foo bar bar
bar bar bar
bar bar bar
bar bar bar
bar bar bar
bar bar foo
foo foo foo

This archive contains two screenshots of what happens when I try to do the
same. The only thing I've done between shots 1 and 2 is pressing the
"Replace"-button.

Right now I'm using Kate 2.3 (Using KDE 3.3.0).
