[Bug 88719] Error message when spell checker isn't installed is incorrect: msg#00218kde.devel.kwrite

Well your solution fixed it. It was just an incorrect error message that lead to confusion because people would install ispell but it said ispell wasn't installed. If you want to improve the message further, though (and why not?), you could also tell them specifically which speller they have selected and what the problem is exactly, i.e. 'You have selected "ASpell" as your speller in the configuration dialog but the command "aspell" does not exist. Make sure the "aspell" program is installed and in a directory which is in your PATH environment variable'. But at least now the message is not untrue, which would make it not technically a bug anymore. Maybe it could also do a check when the user selects a spelling program in the configuration dialog, and also have no spelling program selected by default, to avoid further confusion. |
