Knowit seems similar to TuxCards in the sense, that it has separate "cards" 
that are arranged in a tree. I would like to have the information in a single 
text block (like in org mode). I need to have a closer look at KJots but I 
believe it also collect separate pieces of information. 

To me the distiction between having everything in a single file or in separate 
cards seems important.
