Summary: Join lines removes trailing space, joins words
Product: kate
Version: 2.3
Platform: RedHat RPMs
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: general
AssignedTo: kwrite-devel kde org
ReportedBy: jon.roland the-spa com

Version: 2.3 (using KDE KDE 3.3.0)
Installed from: RedHat RPMs
OS: Linux

I believe this has been previous reported as bugs 61566, 62556, and 69401, but
the latter two were designated duplicates of the first, that that was marked
fixed. It has not been fixed.

It makes no difference if dynamic word wrap or static word wrap is turned on or
off. Need to make sure that lines, when joined, always insert a space between,
unless there is already a space.

In Kate type in enough words to wrap, then make the window more narrow, to
cause re-wrap, then split a line with a RETURN, leaving a trailing space, move
cursor to upper line, then hit "Rejoin lines". The trailing space is lost,
causing words to be improperly joined together.

This problem affects Quanta+, which uses Kate, causing HTML errors. The
solution should be tested in combination with Quanta+ to make sure the bug does
not appear in the editor of either, with the default settings.
