XWT has 95%-complete support for NTLM... if you're interested in
finishing the job, it should be pretty easy -- it's more a matter of
testing (which is easy for you since you have access to an IIS box,
which I don't) than anything else. Check out HTTP.java and search for
'ntlm'.

That particular part of the code has barely changed at all, so if you
come up with a patch that makes Lithium work, the patch will apply
cleanly to Nitrogen.

The NTLM code should be usable for both authenticating to a proxy and
authenticating to an HTTP server...
