Problem with sync: infinite loop?

We're having problems synchronizing. When we use a Smartphone 5, it gets stuck
at "Authenticating" and then it begins blowing up our logs with the records
below (over and over and over):

Datastore 'calendar' read from DB.
Rx list and RxPref read from DB and set in datastore.
Rx list and RxPref read from DB and set in datastore.
Tx list and TxPref read from DB and set in datastore.
Tx list and TxPref read from DB and set in datastore.
FilterRx list read from DB and set in datastore.
FilterRx list read from DB and set in datastore.
FilterCap list read from DB and set in datastore.
FilterCap list read from DB and set in datastore.
DsMem read from DB and set in datastore.
DsMem read from DB and set in datastore.

With "ALL" logging enabled, it quickly fills up 2 or 3 10MB logs before the
"Stop" command completes. It was working fine yesterday. The only change is that
we had wanted to change Funambol to NOT use UTC. However, after we made the
change, we later decided it'd be best to stay with UTC, so we switched it back.

Ideas?
