There is a company called Aligo, that has a tool that extends server
APIs and access to DBs, down to disconnected MIDP apps. Their tool and
framework is not free though... see

Hi all,

I would like to know everyone's opinion on the best way to connect to an
external database from a J2ME application. We all know that java.sql.*
is not available on the J2ME platform, but there are some companies that
make APIs that look similar to standard JDBC for J2ME devices.

So, what's your preference? Oracle 9i Lite? Reqwireless? Pointbase? Are
there others?

Thanks,

Bruce
