Re: Revenue sharing - Europe: msg#00138java.sun.kvm
Hi Pedro, All, I can give you the example of the figures for a French mobile operator, which are to my knowledge pretty normal in Europe in general. In fact, this operator uses two types of revenue sharing based on the efforts of the operator and the efforts of the developer: - application distributed by the operator on its own portal (i.e. operator takes care of everything including publicity, marketing, billing, hosting, etc.): the revenues are for about 30 to 40% reversed to the developer in this case - application distributed using the "kiosk" model (based on the French Minitel); this means that the developer takes care of publication of the applications catalogue, publicity/communication, marketing, etc. and the operator mainly provides the billing mechanism (on the monthly invoice of the customer) and access to the site from an aggregator site. In this model the revenues are for 70% reversed to the developer When trying to talk to this operator, all requests pass by its developers website which allows proposing finished applications or proposals for application development.
