SISC 1.12.0-beta is released and is available from the SISC
website. Starting with SISC 1.11.x, we have reorganized the
files on SourceForge to put them in two packages, SISC and
SISC Lite, rather than a package per released file. This means
for users out there who are subscribed to notices of releases
on the old packages will want to resubscribe to the new ones.
You will get fewer announcements that way.
1.12.0-beta is the first feature-freeze release of the 1.12.x
series. New in this series:
* Double precision (64-bit) floating point is now the default
for the numeric code, rather than arbitrary precision
floating point.
* Support for SLIB 3a2
* Improved handling of natively supported srfis. They now all
have an associated module and appear as pre-imported libraries.
* Added interned values and, on top of that, non-generative record
types and classes. This fixes the long-outstanding record
serialisation bug 806864.
* Made all core types and types in libraries non-generative.
* Added support for SRFI 61 and 67.
* Numerous bug fixes.
Please give this release a good hammering for bugs, especially
if you use SISC serialization. We're interested in feedback
about the non-generative records and serialization of
more complicated objects and records.
Enjoy!
Scott
