What is pack/unpck? Sisc supports binary IO:
http://sisc.sourceforge.net/manual/html/ch05.html#BinaryIO
You can serialize objects to disk. With a few additional functions,
which I posted to the user list a month or so ago on the Siscweb thread,
you can serialize to java arrays and sisc binary buffers.
