Sun looking at JVM bytecode extensions to support dynamic languages: msg#00005

Subject: Sun looking at JVM bytecode extensions to support dynamic languages
In case you haven't heard yet, I thought I'd pass on this news item I
just saw. Tim Bray, a Technology Director at Sun, writes about a
meeting Sun had a couple days ago about whether anything could be
added to the JVM to help out implementors of dynamic languages.

"... since we just shipped the 1.5 Tiger release and are early
on in the planning phase for the next, right now would be a good
    time..."

    http://www.tbray.org/ongoing/When/200x/2004/12/08/DynamicJava

So if there are any bytecode additions that would help SISC, you might
want to chat with Tim (tim.bray at sun.com) and get in the loop.

Cheers,

Andrew
