Hi,
I built placelab on ppcLinux (using the barebones install) and I have
the sample programs (APViewer, WiFiSpotter etc) running.
I'm using the DWL-122 USB WiFi device and with the linux-wlan-ng
drivers managed to get it functioning (tailing /var/log/messages I can
see the device being brought up and when in range of access points
I've seen linkstatus:connected messages).
The problem I'm having is that when using the placelab examples I'm
never seeing any APs. I'm pretty sure it must be something to do with
how I build the spotter library. The barebones installation doesn't
provide a spotter.c etc, Makefile etc so I copied the ones from the
placelab-linux install over and built a library using the 'make
libspotter.so'. Then copied that to the native directory, ran the
buildjar.sh from the util directory (I took out all the lines that
referred to the windows spotter, mac spotter etc...) and copied the
generated placelab.jar into the lib directory.
But running the samples from the bin directory such as the APViewer
never outputs APs.
How should I be building the spotter? Do I need to make changes to
the spotter.c or am I completely off the mark in using the linux
spotter files?
Many thanks,
Colm
