David et al.
Just for the sake of completness - I'm up for this, too. I'm reading the
EJB 2.1 spec with focus on CMP.
I'll probably be ready to ask some questions during our following irc
session. See you there - I'm digging into the spec and will be out till
then.
BTW I've send a query about forming Warsaw Java User Group. We could
involve some more poeple that way.

How about this for an approach:
David & Alan: Transaction integration. We would need to get Tyrex 1.0
integrated in there. Complete tests for container-managed transaction
attributes. Tests for distributed transactions. Now that I list out
even some of the work, I'm crazy if I think I can get it all done by
myself.
Daniel & Jacek: CMP 2.0. CMP is much better for starting as it
requires no change to the OpenEJB architecture. MDB support requires
the addition of asynchronous communication, a revamp of connector
support. It touches pretty much all the architecture on one way or
another.
Tim & unnamed: Admin and Deployment Support. This includes the HTTP,
Telnet, and Console deployment and admin pieces.
How does this sound?
I think breaking up the project like this will really help tighten the
team and the project.

so how shall we form teams?
i for example would be interested in CMP details because i
have to create a new CMP container for the JDK 1.1.8 OpenEJB
port (aka PersonalChilli).

I kinda like David's Xtreme programming slant for this project. I
think that it's difficult for a single person to get
started on such
big tasks. What do you think?

Alan

Betreff: MDB discussion
All,
Daniel and Jacek will be heading up the development on the MDB
container. Daniel has been studying MDBs for his diploma
thesis and
has been experimenting with MDB container development.
With the two
of them working together on the MDB support, we should see
a whole lot
more development talk on the list.
first of all i would like to clearify a thing ...
yesterday we decided that Jacek is working on CMP support
according
to the EJB 2.1 spec.
i in turn will work on connector support according to the J2EE
connector architecture spec v1.5. additionally i will work on MDB
support according to the EJB 2.1 spec.
Perhaps it's a good idea for us to work on pairs on
other things
(transaction and security integration come to mind). Such
an approach
would require more on-list development and may foster a
stronger
community. Teams could pick regular times to pair up on
IRC and talk
development. Thoughts?
Daniel and Jacek,
Please give us some of the highlights on the MDB talks on IRC
yesterday. Any ideas on what spec version we will be developing
against? Was the "mdb_support" branch created? What kind
of ideas did
you discuss in regards to collaboration, development,
design, etc?
i did not create the branch. we decided that i will work
on a branch
called 'mdb_support' and Jacek is working on a branch called
cmp_support.
