problems getting started

I'm looking for some basic examples that I can't find on the web site.
Some of the problems I have are:

   Make things (header and text) bold
   Change the font size (it seems like I  would use TextField.setFontSize
   to do this but I don't know how to use TextField)
   Change the font size for the header to be different than the text
   Change headers
   I've downloaded the doc & tutorial HTML files but when I click on a
   method I get "The page cannot be displayed" in the right pane.  I trid
   downloading the source but that didn't help.  Is there something else I
   should download or did I put the stuff in the wrong directlry?
   Similarily with the tutorial I don't have any of the Chap*.java or
   Chap*.pdf files.  Where do I download those from?
