Asynchonrous and synchronous messages on same channel

Is it possible to install a MessageDispatcher and a Receiver on the same 
channel.

I would like to use the same channel for both synchronous and 
asynchronous messages.

I'm not sure that installing the MessageDispatcher will cause all 
messages to be handled by it's request handler, or just those sent using 
castMessage.
