Wang, the *.mdb file just keeps track of what lsm files are in the same folder and lets you have the gallery view from inside the Zeiss software. All information about images are in the *.lsm files You can use the ImageJ [Image/Stacks/Polt Z-axis Profile] to measure a ROI throughout an image stack.
