8-bit to 16-bit: msg#00217

Subject:	8-bit to 16-bit

Hello everyone,


          Does anybody know how to convert an 8-bit DICOM image into a 16-bit
DICOM image using ImageJ? Or does anybody know any ImageJ plugin that performs
the mentioned conversion? Or any software? I used GIMP 2.0 in coming up with
the 8-bit image but i realized that what i need is a 16-bit image. GIMP can't
handle 16-bit images.
