applications in

What is the current status of the "applications" tree in the Geronimo 
source?  

I built MagicGBall but it fails to deploy because of a missing WSDL 
document.

I built the "demo" application (which doesn't look like it includes 
anything much) and while it says it built successfully, it fails to 
deploy because the war file cannot be read.

Are these supposed to be our "samples" or is there someplace else I 
should be looking?
