patch to allow GUI to accept WAR and EAR file extensions

Hi,

Here is a patch that allows the GUI to accept .war and .ear files, and
generalizes some of the JAR-specific language in the UI to be more
general.

If there's any problems with it, let me know and I'll be happy to adjust.
If there's no issues, will this make it in for 1.1.3?
